Lepan therapy

Lepan therapy, also known as Lepanam, is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy involving the application of a medicated herbal paste to the affected area of the body. The paste (called lepam) is made by mixing herbal powders, fresh herb paste, or medicinal liquids with a medium like water, milk, honey, or fruit juices.
Key aspects of Lepan therapy :-

    • Promotes skin health: The herbs nourish and rejuvenate the skin, improving its tone, texture, and elasticity. It is used for conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and pigmentation.
    • Enhances blood circulation: The application and gentle massage (in some cases) stimulate blood circulation, aiding in healing.

    • Assists in wound healing: The paste’s anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties can help with wound healing.
  • Procedure:
    1. A qualified Ayurvedic practitioner assesses the individual’s condition and chooses the appropriate herbs and ingredients.
    2. A paste is prepared by grinding the herbs and mixing them with a suitable medium.
    3. The paste is applied evenly to the affected area.
    4. It is left on for a specific duration, usually 20-30 minutes, or until it dries.
    5. The paste is then gently removed with warm water or a herbal decoction.
    6. Post-treatment care may involve cleansing the area and applying lotion or oil.
  • Customization: The herbs and the medium used to make the paste are selected according to the individual’s specific condition and Dosha (body type).
