Patrapottali Therapy

Patrapottali Therapy is a traditional Ayurvedic massage therapy that utilizes heated herbal poultices to promote healing, relaxation, and pain relief. It’s a type of Sweda (sudation or steam therapy) that utilizes medicinal leaves and other natural ingredients to address various musculoskeletal and joint conditions.
Key Aspects of Patrapottali Therapy :-
  • Uses heated herbal poultices: The poultices (pinda or bolus) are prepared by wrapping a mixture of herbs, spices, and medicinal plants in a cloth or leaf.
  • Application after massage: Typically, the therapy involves an initial oil massage (Abhyanga) followed by the application of heated bolus bags filled with medicinal plant leaves.
  • Promotes sweating (Sweda): The heated poultices are applied to the body to induce therapeutic sweating, which helps to eliminate toxins and alleviate pain and stiffness.
  • Focus on musculoskeletal health: This therapy is particularly beneficial for conditions like arthritis, joint pain, muscle stiffness, and other neuromuscular and degenerative disorders.
  • Tailored to individual needs: The specific herbs and formulations used can be customized based on the patient’s condition and needs.
